How hard is it to repair an LCD monitor? I have a year 4-TFT-LCD Daytek NLM19S model.?

My monitor flickers when I started I use it, possibly flashing so I could not read more. When started, the image was beautiful, but as I use the monitor began gradually worsen. Today, finally out and replaced by a new monitor from Dell. But then there was the old Daytek, and hated to think about throwing away (especially since it cost me almost $ 800 4 years) two monitors would be nice …. I wondered how difficult it is to fix one of them. What is the most likely problem if the image was hesitant. This is just a bulb replace it? May not add anything to the landfill after all. I am not a PC expert, but I study computers in college for 3 years and I have two classes PC repair my Credit. However, in the day, we had CRT, and we dare not open them. So I'm not an expert for you, but I might be able to do this if it is not too difficult. Can anyone advise? Do I shoot or is there hope?

If there is food, it would probably be better to buy a new screen TFT 19 ", and will cost less than you.
